Some Fall Styling Tips from Gaby Basora

Every season we look forward to seeing what Tucker by Gaby Basora will pull out of the hat.

Fall/winter for 2012 is a wonderful triumph of inspired pieces to mix and match so we asked the designer, Gaby Basora what her inspiration was this season.  She cited the photographer Gerard Fieret’s mind bogglingly beautiful photographs.  Gaby describes the photographs as warm, grainy, real, chaotic, strange and full of life.  All of the stuff that inspires her.

Gaby is so effortlessly stylish and we always admire how she dresses, so we asked her what new pieces from the collection she’ll be wearing this fall and most importantly, how she’ll style them.

Here’s Gaby’s styling tips for how she’ll be wearing the collection this season.

  • The Tucker down with ‘Down with Dom’ pod coat (pictured left) with a Lanvin hat, Tucker button up shirt, Tucker foulard, black denim jeans and Bionda Castana satin printed lace up pumps.
  • Tucker Henley jumpsuit (pictured right) with a Dannijo Choker, ‘All For The mountain’ bolero necklace and a gorgeous Solange Azagury lacquer lip ring in black cherry.
  • An A.P.C. ivory fisherman sweater with Tucker ‘Brando and Anna’ cuffed pants (pictured bottom centre).
  • Vintage glasses from Manhattan Eyeworks and a Tucker pinafore dress a-la Taryn Simon.  Worn with Gaby’s Mom’s fair isle sweater from high school and Madison Harding Chas ankle boots, some black tights, a Tucker plaid classic blouse, a lumberjack chic ode to Ali Mcgraw Love Story, a Coach ‘penny’ shoulder bag and top it off with a Satya Twena aubergine hat.

And there you have it, some kicking styling tips on how to throw together your winter look from one New York’s best dressed people.
