New Yorker’s always love the new secret hip restaurant and this season that place is Moby Dicks in Montauk. Hidden away, as all the best places have to be and quite difficult to find, this new “pop up restaurant” is literally the place to be this summer.
On the water in a sleepy stretch of Montauk out near the airport, Moby Dick’s is installed beside Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Marina and down a hidden path filled with palm trees. When you finally do find the secret pathway that leads you inside, you feel like you are walking on to Gilligan’s Island, except instead of the Captain and Mary-Anne, the place is full of famous off duty models and beautiful style mavens.
The restaurant is operated by the team behind Kingswood in Manhattan with the sous chef from the yummy Il Bucco restaurant. The menu is simple and delicious. Kale Salad, fabulous local fish, a pasta and pizza’s made while you watch. To drink, cocktails, beer and rosé.
A killer view and a superb sunset makes this a perfect summer secret. They’ll shut up shop at the end of the season and we really hope they pop up at this magical spot again next season.
