Summer Fridays: Jenna Fain

jenna fain

Tomorrow is July 4th which makes today an honorary Summer Friday. Jenna Fain is a founder of The Stone Set, a beautiful jewelry editorial site, and for this week’s Summer Fridays feature, Jenna shares her super laid-back 4th of July weekend plans.
I’ll be ringing in the holiday weekend with a 4th of July party at my place, grilling on my deck with fabulous friends and drinking Peach Bellinis.  I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Weekend!

  • ESCAPE – Where are you travelling to?

I’m staying in Brooklyn Heights for Fourth of July weekend to catch up on life, work on my website The Stone Set, and watch fireworks from the Promenade. On summer weekends in NYC, the streets are so quiet because everyone escapes. It’s like a staycation, and there’s never a wait for the best new restaurants!

  • MENU – What will you be cooking or eating?

It wouldn’t be the Fourth without a barbecue, so definitely a good burger and fresh veggies from the bounty of a Quinciple box (a favorite new discovery). Then for Sunday brunch, the epic chilaquiles at Iris Cafe. I also want to make Bon Appetempt’s Chocolate Cream Pie.

  • READING -What are you planning to read?

I’m rotating between The Vacationers by Emma Straub, W. Somerset Maugham’s The Moon and Sixpence, and Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion for my book club. What can I say? I like options.

Gillian Steinhardt
  • LOOK – What will you be wearing?

Probably my Acne Gray Maxi Dress, Striped Coach Slide-Ons, and Gillian Steinhardt jewelry. Her collection is Art Deco meets 70s goodness, and is so architectural and exciting.
