If you want to check out all the best on the Chelsea art scene this summer then tonight is the night. This evening Chelsea galleries are staying open until 8pm for their annual Chelsea Art Walk. A great way to check out all the best summer shows and catch some once in a season events, with many galleries holding receptions, artist talks, performances and openings, all free and open to the public.
Hauser & Wirth are holding a panel discussion on Sterling Ruby with drinks in the famed Roth Bar straight afterwards. David Zwirner gallery on 19th Street will have a pop-up book store where you can pick up posters and art books at a great price. There’s a live performance based on the 70s show “Three’s Company” at Churner & Churner and even a “wearable art” event at Agora Gallery where visitors are asked to show up in their own created shoewear, nailwear, hair designs or outfits, with the best being photographed for an upcoming project. Whether looking at art or people watching the always interesting art crowd, Chelsea Art Walk promises to be a wonderful summer night out in the City.Chelsea Art Walk.
