On Wednesday evening the art crowd came out in full force for the Brooklyn Museum’s Annual Gala “The Brooklyn Artists Ball”, celebrating the extraordinary talents of the Brooklyn Creative Community. It was naturally an arty crowd, wearing fabulous outfits full of unique personal style. 40 different dinner tables were designed by 18 different Brooklyn artists for the guests to enjoy a formal seated dinner.
Afterwards the crowd danced the night away to music from super cool DJs Atlanta De Cadenet Taylor and Andrew Andrew with an installation by artist Luis Gispert created especially for the occasion.
Vanity Projects, a new art gallery cum-nail salon was also on hand, creating nail designs for guests based on the table designs. But the true stars of the night were the evening’s honorees, trustee Barbara Knowles Debs and artists Vik Muniz, Wangechi Mutu, and Roxy Paine .
